Help HTC Sensation Xe charging problem

Hello everyone ,

So i wanted to charge my new htc sensation xe and i figured out that it's very very very slow , so to verify if the problem is from the mobile or from the phone i tried to charge it from the HTC HD2 charger and it worked perfectly and a lot faster .

The question i wanted to ask is , Is it bad for the battery to use another charger ?

Hi klaarikama!

As far as I know, all micro-USB phone chargers are essentially exactly the same. There's some talk thrown around here and there that it voids your warranty to use a non-manufacturer approved one, but I don't know if it's true, and you're using another HTC one anyway so it should be fine!

Having said that, I've found that some cables fit better in my phone than others - my charger port is a bit loose and my HTC cable doesn't stay in the phone, but my Kindle cable does =/ go figure!

If your charger is faulty and the phone is new, try taking it back to where you got it, or phoning the support people and see if they can exchange it for you, you shouldn't have to put up with broken technology straight out of the box.

I might add that most phone manifacturers modify their USB chargers for fast charging, also HTC.
So, if this slow charger was a generic charger then its slowness is understandable ... but if it was a HTC charger then it has a defect.

Some info about modified USB chargers charging with higher amperage = faster :)

Thank you ,

i just figured out that the problem come from the usb cable and not from the adapter , i tried another usb cable (HTC) and its still very slow , 2% IN 30 MINUTES i can't understand why , while with those of my friend and brother from 0 to 100% in 2h-2h30 , is the problem from my battery or these usb cable ? Just to be sure .

Thank you .

Your cable might have a broken data wire because the phone needs both data wires of the cable for to "see" the charger's jumped data pins for fast charging.
