htc sense 3.0

Not a hope in hell of officially getting it, apparently the Sensation lags slightly and it's a dual-core CPU and more RAM so our lowly Desires would probably just die

Would be nice, though

I like the quick launch of apps from the lockscreen. The 3D carousel and similar things seem to be heavy for single core phones.

It will probably just be 2.1 - As mentioned above a dual-core CPU and more RAM is probably required to run the 3.0 experience. Although it would be nice ;)

I actually mentioned this same thing over on CNET when someone asked...

and while SOME people still use sense and will continue to do so...pretty much every bit of sense 3.0 is found in other launchers....launcher pro, ADW, SPB for example..

even the new mailbox and contact update will be found in 3rd party apps..

so to sum up...well...actually im starting to sound like the GV guys :P the "well...we already have sense 3.0 features (or in their case gingerbread) and we dont use sense...so its no worry to us"

:D lol

Im aosp to the core but if I had a new sense 3 handset, I'd stick with it a while because it is beautiful.

I'm.sure its limitations would become apparent soon enough though

yea...its limitations are called sense lol my other half got a lil bored with launcher pro, GO and ADW so went back to sense...first thing she asked me "can I remove a homepage?"...ummm no..."shit stupid sense!" hahaha :D

Dock was the main reason for me to leave sense tbh. Couldnt go back to sense 2.0.

I suppose if the Launcher is changed, you still get that cool lockscreen. Wonder how long Id have a sense 3.0 phone not running on AOSP though?!

Depends how long it takes someone to open it up ;)

I was wondering the exact same thing though tbh, i'm really tempted by the Sensation and as good as Sense 3.0 looks, imagine the potential that rooting and custom ROM's have for a dual-core smartphone :D

Oh I'd be rooted without a shadow of a doubt and hopefully minimum custom kernels.

HTC tend to use too high a voltage for each clock's requirement, wasting power.

If they sorted out the issues rooting fixes then it would be awesome (reducing CPU speed with screen off, etc)

True.

But theres always another tweak to be had somewhere. The idea of perfection is in itself, imperfect.

I am also AOSP at the moment and i love it but if I had sense 3.0 I would have to use it for abit :P.

I also have a question for SUroot... I am using the same kernel as you. Does it slow the CPU down on screen-off or do you have to set it to? :)
