Root htc sms to aosp sms

I don't THINK so to be honest...I think really the only thing you coudl do would be a Nandroid then use Appextractor to restore them from the nandroid...I could be wrong, though
 
isn't sms stored in:
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db

so would restoring that file make it appear in the app or is there more attached?
 
I thought that all you have to do is use an app? i use sms backup and restore to backup and restore my messages. even from an htc rom. Again If thats what you are talking about.
 
since the cm/aosp doesnt have a backup sms feature, i attempted this with rom toolbox and titanium backup, both with no luck

... people in the second link did what i was planning on so i will try that... will also do a full backup for use with appextractor... and will backup with 'sms backup and restore' as XAL2 suggested... just wanna make sure i backup with the right tools before i flash... cm10.1 is my new daily...
 
I use go SMS. Its super easy just download it then go to back up SMS it'll back it up to your SD card. Then switch ROMs download the app again then restore messages and delete go SMS if u don't want it. I keep gosms.apk on my SD card so I don't have to keep downloading it
