Yeah i think this may have been posted.

But yeah, I don't have windows 7.

I refuse to buy into more of Microsoft's false promises.

However i have been having trouble with HTC sync and have downloaded the update earlier.

I just can't be bothered to restart my computer.

I'll post if it has fixed my problem.
 
It su.., the software doesn't find the Phone.
De-installed everything, reg-cleaned, then a new install, nothing.

They can make a Phone, but Software!!(don't they test it before launching it)

I use XP Pro sp3.
 
Figured it out, but that is not the way it should be.
The only way to get a connection with the Software is to shutdown the Phone and restart it. Bad, bad.
 
It works without issues (no phone restart or even Windows restart required), but the contact synchronization routine is still unusable - I always end up with few duplicate, or even triplicate, contacts on both ends.

Keep trying, HTC!
 
Had same problem - WIn 7 64bit - had it working before by copying the vista drivers. Today installed 2.0.18 and sync failed. Tried uninstalling, reg clean, all that good stuff. Even tried going back to previous version and the vista drivers but that's snafued now. Very poor - almost makes me long for the nokia days...
 
I managed to follow some guide on getting the earlier sync software to work with Windows 7. It involves downloading some alternate files and pasting them over the original files

Are you using a task killer? You may be killing the settings which is necessary to sync. Add it to your ignore list.
