HTC sync issues

Im trying to use HTC sync with my desire but the phone isnt seeing that HTC sync is open on the pc, anything else i should try apart from uninstall then a reinstall.

when i try to sync it keeps on saying phone cant be identified despite the phone is set to charge and debugging mode is on

There are drivers that HTC Sync and MPE both require. Install HTC Sync and uninstall - this will leave the drivers on your PC. MPE will then work.

I have tried several times to use HTC sync. Even tried installing the sd card ready version and the newest available online version. Never even got it to sync up. Always with the phone telling me there is no HTC sync installed on my computer.

First time with the myphone explorer, (after uninstalling sync and keeping the drivers) it all worked out. I'm glad to finally be able to back up my phone after a year of being unable.

I have managed to get htc sync to work but cant remember what i did, im cant remember it being so hard to do it.

Managed to get my phone explorer working, i installed the app on the phone(hadnt done that before so might be why didnt work at first) and it worked
