HTC sync to Windows 7?

I see that this question has been discussed in the past but apparently not since last August. Maybe there is something new I'm not aware of.

Just bought a new laptop with Windows 7 and can sync my EVO 4G music, pictures and documents but not contacts.

I understand the conflict between a Microsoft product and a Google product. Anyway around this?

I figured I could just save my contacts as a cvc file but I can't even get the computer to recognize the phone as a separate drive.

What to do?

Thanks!

You sync your Outlook and Calendar to Google using your Google account, and those data will automatically appear in your phone. Are you already syncing your current contacts and calendar on your phone to Google?

Yes, I've had Outlook and Calendar synced to Google but my last Outlook license expired on the PC that died and I don't want to buy another. Windows 7 will not use Outlook Express. So, now I'm using Windows Live Mail. All a bit frustrating.

Somebody told me I could get a Hotmail account and upload GMail accounts there and then Windows 7 will accept the Hotmail contacts. I'm going to try that.

You can link GMail to Hotmail. Not so sure if its active sync, but you can indeed transfer calendar and Contacts to Google from Hotmail which your phone will download.
