HTC Sync with Outlook

I just purchased a TB (but not yet received) and found information about syncing TB to Outlook "HTC SYNC 3.0.5579 FOR HTC THUNDERBOLT

I use the application (not 100% certain it is the exact same version) and it works well. Occasionally ot locks up on my Win 7 system. When it's not locked up, it gets my appointments & contacts synced between my TB and Outlook.

I did have problems trying to sync music using it. I did some Googling and found that people use Media Monkey to sync music.

Music Sync is not an issue for me. Thanks for your response. So since you use the HTC Sync (and I assume that you have a Gmail account, does your Gmail Calendar and Gmail contacts also sync between you phone and the Gmail account?

I do not use the Google calendar, so I can't really help you there.

However I do not htink that it will stop that syncing from happening. So, you will wind up with things from your Outlook calendar AND your Google calendar on your phone.

I assume that you use Contacts in Outlook and Calendar in Outlook and if that is the case then I would assume that if you looked at your Gmail account (even though you may not use it) it will show your calendar and contacts.

Using the HTC sync it looks like your calendar in your phone only contains some limited view (I think maybe max of 1 month back and 1 month forward). Is that correct?

The timeframe is configurable with sync. I do not believe that you set how far out it goes, but it will only sync things that are X old with the max being 1 year. This is not an issue unless you have recurring appointments that were set up over a year ago.
