Is it me or is the HTC Sync software quite basic and rudimentary? I wish it was more feature-packed like the Nokia Ovi (PC Suite).

It pretty much is. I don't even use it. Most syncing for calendars and contacts are done with Google, and my music is managed with Winamp over Wifi. For everything else, I just use Dropbox. The only time I connect it to my PC is if I need to move a large quantity of files to/from the SD card.
