Help HTC Weather app & Time

So...on my Incredible, I did not have to have my GPS on (any of the three options) to show the weather of my home city. I initialized it, with GPS on, at my house, and then turned GPS off and the weather stayed set to where I live. Now, the TB will not show anything in the provided space, unless I have my GPS set to on. Why? If I add just the HTC weather widget (w/o time) it shows my home location (currently says 'Duncansville (Current)'). Is there any way to make it work like the incredible?

Also, when I wake the phone up, it shows the correct time. But when I unlock the phone, it shows an hour behind, as if it was unable to keep up with DST. But it eventually flips to the correct time. It doesn't matter if i wait 10 seconds to turn it back on or 10 minutes.

Is it just the widget? I tried removing and reinstalling, but no luck. Any help?

That's strange, I've not had my GPS on and it knows where I'm at. It shows Sunset Valley when I'm home (small city within Austin) and when I'm at work in downtown Austin it changes to Austin.

For the time thing, I notice when I flip over to the time it updates to the current time as soon as I go to it (takes like .5 sec) which I assumed means the widget freezes when you're not using it to save battery. Is that what you're seeing?

I have the same thing happening. If I turn off all the gps services to save battery the clock says "To see local weather, tap here to turn on Location Service"

I only have the Google Location Services checked and I get my weather and time. When I first activated my phone, I didn't have any checked and the weather didn't show at all. As soon as I checked GLS, I got the weather.

Pretty much every time I wake it, even if it is 10 seconds after I let it go to sleep, it will revert back 1 hour. So I am just wondering if it reverts back to Daylight Savings Time. The slider bar shows the correct time, but widget won't be correct. I was hoping not to have to turn on Google Location Services, b/c I really just want it to show my home location, not my current location, like the Inc. did.

The time thing is just an animation of sense... if you don't like it you can turn off animations in the settings

I don't think it's an animation. The time reverts back 1 hour every time the phone goes to sleep. When you turn it on, it "catches up" to the current time. If I let it sleep (by pressing the power button) right now at 9:06 AM, and then unlock the phone again, it will briefly show 8:06 AM and then the hour will flip over.

How quickly does this happen? Mine does that too, but almost immediately. It's just an animation so that the clock flips when you unlock it. It's eye candy... nothing more... not an issue, just something to make you say "oooooo look at that"

Add:
The unlock screen shows the correct time when you unlock it and the notification bar has the correct time while this animation happens.

It happens fairly quickly, but why does it revert back one hour every time? I actually just noticed this one yesterday. I was more concerned about not being able to see my home location weather in the widget.

If you want to see your home weather all the time, you can add your home city to the widget and have it display your cities weather instead of your current location.

Anyone else having an issue with the updating of their location/weather right now

My home location (and no place nearby) is not in the default list, so it won't show the location I would like.

Mine keeps showing "Junction (current)" which is completely wrong. I dont even know where that is! It may correct itself for a time but still goes back to that "other place"! I have tried turning gps off, rebooting, pulling battery etc with no luck. Still is confused. Is the gps receiver THAT bad?

I'm not a droid owner yet, but will be... Yesterday I went to my local VZN store and looked at the TB. They had two on display. I noticed that one TB had the current city listed correct, but the other TB had Chicago listed in the weather area.

I asked the store rep why this was the case. He said one TB displayed correctly and the other didn't. He had no clue as to why.

May be a bad batch out there or simply a configuration issue. I'm sure this will be resolved by an update if this is a software issue, or someone will figure it out.

Just thought I would share...

Dennis

The time thing is just an animation. My touch pro 2 did that but you could toggle it off via settings. As far as location settings, I get some weird cities nowhere near my location. Right now it says I'm in Ross where the temp is 34 or so, but it's actually 67 degrees outside. Talk about way off...

It's always going to flip back an hour to show the animation of the flip clock. Like said before, it can't be fixed because there's nothing to fix. There clock has been like this since my Touch Pro 2 days and maybe well before then. It only can be turned off, other than that, HTC wants you to see how the clock flips because no one usually stares at the homescreen for a long period of time to see it flip.

To change the animation, hold down on the clock and drag it to the bottom left corner (setting). Click current location and uncheck show animations.

My Incredible only started doing this and it's frustrating to me. I have had the phone for about a month now and it was fine last week.

Basically I live in this little town called Rising Sun. When I am at home I get "Current Location". And this is with all three location selections check marked (Verizon, Google and GPS).

But if I drive three miles up town to my work it says "Rising Sun".

I have read that it could be a signal strength thing, I am at full bars with 3G. I even had Wi-Fi on.

I have rebooted it, I have pulled the battery, I have deleted the app. I even went in to Manage Apps and forced stop on anything that had HTC and weather in the title (this would work for the me the other day... now it won't).

I did the airplane thing.

I show the right location in Facebook and Google Maps. Even the Google Home page in my internet browser says Rising Sun.

The only thing I wonder about is this: When I got the phone I was downloading any and every app that was free. I wonder if one of these apps or if deleting all these apps some how hurt a system file some how. I have learned that with Windows, as long as you don't go adding and deleting files like crazy you will encounter less problems with system errors.
