Htc Wildfire vs Motorola defy

i have a choice between these two phones, but i have no idea which one to go for, i need pro's and cons for each phone, thank you! :)

Defy, its life proof.
The Wildfire is a good phone but its only a basic android and performance wise its not a patch on the Defy. Wait for the Wildfire S if your still unsure.

Two advantages of the wildfire:
1)HTC Sense is better than Motoblur.
2)Android 2.2 now rather than in 3 months

Other than that it's defy all the way!

Only Defy, hardware much better. Speedy CPU, resolution of the screen incomparable. Water proof. If you dont like motoblur, can flash another rom with htc sense.

The Wildfire S might be a bit closer in competition terms, but the DEFY is way out ahead. Besides the ruggedness, it's faster and has a much higher resolution screen.

The DEFY also has very good battery life, although, on occasion, it has managed to get stuck on 100% processor usage which kills the battery in no time - as well as making it red hot. I am not sure if this has been fixed with the latest DEFY update that is, slowly, rolling out - and we will get 2.2 in due course that should improve the speed further.

You can also overclock the DEFY in no time, running at 1 or 1.2GHz (or even higher if you dare!) and it won't impact the battery much more either, although it can run a little hot.

But, you know what's cool? If it does run hot, just put the phone in a glass of cold water. :p Seriously, it cools it right down in no time!!! Don't do that with the Wildfire or you'll be looking for a brand new phone very quickly.

Any touchscreen phone needs pixels aplenty to make the best of the OS - the Defy is streets ahead on that criteria alone.

I've got a Defy and my wife has the Wildfire. We've both replaced the stock launcher with launcher pro so Sense versus Blur isn't an issue and even though she runs Froyo and I'm on stock Eclair my Defy is soooo much better.

The wife has real trouble getting as many games because of

a) slower processor
b) lower res screen meaning some games are completely incompatible

That and the added security of mine being 'life proof' just means Defy wins hands down.
