huawei Ascend help asap!

hi so i just got a cricket huawei ascend
so far so good
until i tried to install a theme
it installed but it never lets me select it as a theme nor does it even show p a a theme on my settings

i also tried to put a keyboard theme same thing happened it downloaded but it does not show up a selection on my settings
am i doing something wrong someone please help me with step by step instructions on what to do

Did you root your phone before installing the theme?

no i don't know how to do that? is that what i need to do?

While I can't guarantee that this is needed with your Huawei Ascend (I own a Motorola Droid X), I'm pretty sure that many Android devices need to be rooted in order to install Themes.

Check the Huawei Ascend forum for more details on this and, if necessary, on rooting the phone...

Ok So I Downloaded Z4root, installed it, also Have Super User, And Titanium Back up...What Now? How Do I apply themes?
