Help Huawei Ascend International?

Hi all

I'm going to Italy this summer and would like to know if the Ascend will work in Italy. I know that I need to get the international plan but I heard some phones don't work international.

The Ascend is CDMA right? Europe is almost exclusively GSM based, so you would need a SIM based phone that supported the correct GSM frequencies. I think you're out of luck unfortunately

I live in California and i went to Arizona. I lost internet connection but Txt messages and phone calls still worked. Not sure if itll work but if it worked in Arizona it may work.

Yes the Ascend is CDMA. But Cricket does offer an international plan...

CDMA won't work in Europe. By international I'm guessing they mean Mexico and Canada.

Some other countries use CDMA networks, which is why there is an international plan. You can also get phones that support both CDMA and GSM I believe. But Europe is the place you're least likely to find CDMA technology being used.

I'm not claiming to be know for sure of course, I'm not Italian.
