Help Huawei G7 Trend

Lurker
I purchased a Huawei G7 Trend for my son as a reasonable entry level android phone. Unfortunately all has not been going well. After having the phone for two days we received the error message "Unfortunately system UI has stopped". We googled it and found a way of resolving it by clearing the cache. It still took time for the phone to start again. A couple of days later it did the same thing and we managed to get it going but the store we purchased the phone from suggested we do a factory reset if it happened again. It did happen and we reset. Unfortunately it happened again so I took it back and received another.

Two days later the same problem yet again. My son is only a young teenager and I am wondering whether some of the apps/games he is downloading from the Playstore is the problem. I am not that savvy so am struggling as to what to do next. We are thinking of changing the phone for a HTC Desire 820 but have lost faith.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think any play store apps would throw up that error. I'd suggest a reflash but since its happened on two phones I doubt that would help. What Android version is it on and did both phones get system updates soon after receiving them?
Is there any chance your son has been installing from outwith the Play Store?
(you can check in settings, security, unknown sources and if that is activated then the chances are yes

Hi funkylogik, he has 4.4.4 and I yes the first phone was up to date and the second I have just checked and it says it is up to date. I asked my son and got the answer I expected, he wouldn't know how to get apps from anywhere else but did check the unknown sources and it is turned off so all okay. It is running at the moment but do wonder for how long.

Should I just assume there is something wrong with the Huawei software?
