Help Hudl 2 reset itself.

Lurker
I may have upset Ann droid on my Hudl 2 she seems to have made a partial if not full factory reset and I never touched her.
I added a Scanner app and tried it out on a document then put the hudle on charge just before going to Wickes for building material. Came back left it charging as red light was still on, 3 hrs later green light so took it off.
Left it for another 2 hours then open up and found home screen changed to default picture and I lost my late pets photo i was using.. ES app gone Scan app gone, Quick Pic Gone with some photos' also gon No files no folder no downloads no pdf's a few art video's and drawing files still on but lost quite a bit. Oh also cloud disapeared too. What could have made the unit auto reset? The internal memory shows red bar but their is only on folder 'Android with som mb on it all the others show 0. so can only assume maybe what I'm looking for is hidden or needs app to reveal them again.

Thanks in anticipation..

Sounds like some sort of catastrophic failure of it, like the internal storage collapsed, "memory shows red bar". Thing is Hudl was a cheapo tablet sold by Tesco, unknown manufacturer(Wistron?), and so possibly had quality issues. I believe they did have quite a high return rate, and are now discontinued by Tesco. Which "cloud" disappeared, Google or something proprietary to Hudl? Can you login on-line, see if anything is stored there? If you try a factory reset, that will wipe anything remaining.

As for getting your data back, probably not likely, except possibly for expensive forensic data recovery.
