Root HUGE lag

I drained my battery last night, charged it overnight while still off and today I'm getting some major lag. Nothing has changed and setcpu is what it was yesterday. (245/1267 lagfree)

No new Apps just the newest dark horse theme. Cleaned cache already through recovery. Rebooted again and its not as laggy, but still there.

Well you cleaned the cache like I would have. There has to be something I am missing. Are you running a livewallpaper?

No. I use an app called wallpaper rotator that changes it every hour though. Had that app since I had my evo way back when.

Yeah I have used tasker for the same thing I don't think it would be the cause.

Open terminal the type the following inside the quote

"su" press enter, give superuser access if it asks
"free"

What does it say?

Mine is:

mem: 610020 582084 27936
Swap: 0 0 0
total: 610020 582084 27936

edit: The forum auto formats so it looks funny

Terminal emulator, it is on the market. I wanted to check if compcache was enabled, it has caused lag for me in the past. If you install a new rom I would think your issue may go away, even more so if you wipe with the install.

The theme may be the issue but IDK was trying to rule out stuff.

could it possibly be the warning i get a few times a day about SU binary outdated? even though when i run it, it says its the most current version?

Yeah I think there is a newer version out there. IIRC it is a beta, I think it is superuser 3.0 beta or something like that, not sure about the binaries being outdated, I would think that would have something to do with the rom and not the app so a new rom flash would fix that, I wouldn't think it would cause lag however

Don't apply the theme before testing it out, if there isn't lag then when you install the theme there is you will know what the issue is ;)

I think it was the theme... I have no lag right now. I will let this go overnight then try the theme in the morning.

If it comes back you should be able to flash the rom back over the theme without wiping and you should be fine.
