Hunting for the right case

Red80

Lurker
I need to buy a case that has raised edges along the sides not just on the top and bottom of the phone. For example I have a Spigen Tough Armor for my S8+, it failed to stop my phone from cracking and the break is on the sides where the case is level with the screen. I dont care if I lose some of the screen edges on the side, so long as its protected. You cant really go into a store and try on cases until you find one you like and I'm not trying to aimlessly order online, only to have to return.

Hopefully someone has a case or handful of cases that do offer raised edges along all sides of screen to provide front facing protection for the S8+

Please help.

well.. try amazon.. there is a lot to choose from.
they are cheap.. less that $3 each.. with free shipping.

when i get a new phone.. i order about 5 cases.
normally i only use the 1 that i like best. the others are back ups.

I just dont see how you can find a case designed for the curve glass design of S8...
that will intentionally cover that curve.
people will talk bad about the designer.

you might look at cases that have the front cover flaps.

I believe your only option would be an enclosed case as most cases are designed to compliment the design of the screen. I too use a Spigen case for my S8+ which features high rubberised corners that flair up to the top and bottom of the case adding to the protection, but still allows the edge display to be shown.

So far after countless drops from hands and one fron height out of my pocket no damage!

I've had my s8 in the Spigen neo hybrid for the 2 years I've had the phone. I guess I've been lucky as after many drops all that's happened is the silver paint is wearing off the case and it's turning white. I'll second Ottobox if Spigen didn't meet your needs.

I kept an OtterBox Defender case on all my phones, until they dropped the built in screen protector. While I still recommend them, if you can do without the protector, I'm now using a LoveMei Powerful case, on my LG.

It's heavy and built like a tank.

When I had the S8+ I bought the full body w/screen protector red pepper case.

There are some drawbacks w/these type of cases:
1. they are hard to take off
2. you may have an echo
3. the screen protector is built in so you may have to deal w/the rainbow effect.
4. the buttons may not be as easy to press as w/other cases

Good luck in your search.

Using an Otterbox Defender Pro on my S8+. I did widen the back slot by the FP bio-reader to improve recognition success! Oh, I also put a Supershieldz curved 9H glass over screen as well since Otter does not have one. Seen too many cracked, scratches, etc. phones out there to put all that faith into Corning Gorilla!!!

I added a 9H curved glass shield on my screen and it fits case great!!!?
