Help hwo to disable cellular signals

Hello everyone.

I have this phone for more than two years. now i only use it on my cycle for the cycling app and the GPS speed app. I don't use it to make calls, its out of service for more than a year and i don't plan to get it activated again.

I want to disable the cellular signals, so that the phone wont search for the cell towers, so in a way i don't get that annoying sound when it loses connection and will hopefully save battery also (i live in mountainous area, boost signals are poor).

does anyone know a way to disable that? the airplane mode disables the gps also so it doesn't work for me....i need the gps chip for the cycling and speed app.

thanks in advance :)

Agree with the above, you should be able to turn on airplane mode then turn on GPS. The cellular will stay disabled.
