ehhhh could be, but most likely not. The 4G phones are actually a bad sale for us, (the store i work at) we don't make much money on them, because of how much the initial cost is on them. You could apply this scenario to ANY cell phone company, btw.
as for me, i try to be as honest with the customer as i can. we're located in a relatively small town, and i have no clue when we'll get 4G, so that's what i tell people. usually tell them that i would expect it to be available within the next 6-8 months but i really can't be sure.
as for finding the right phone for them, i give them some pointers and let them pick the one they think will fit them best. i really don't like pushing a certain phone onto someone if i don't think it will work, it just leads to headaches for me down the road when they come in complaining.
you can easily spit out some bs and sell a customer a phone one time and get them out the door, but why not give them a good experience and cater to their individual needs- build a relationship and sell them a phone every time they want to buy one in the future? thats the way i see it
