Root i am going to root my prevail

hi people on the android forum everyone that has answeard all ??? i had about rooting thanke you..i am going to be rooting my prevail tomorrow what is over clocking all about and can i do it after it is rooted i now i have to use the setcpu i just want it to run a bit quicker and get rid of all the stock bloatwear like google maps and boost crap i never use them any advice about the overclocking and anything i should now or watch for please let me no i thank you guys for all the help happy easter:D
 
well first find how want to root then if want to pick a mod then the kouma kernel is good and the overclocking is in ctmod3.4 and makes phone process faster and then look through the forums to see what you want to do and then READ,READ about what want to do:D:D:D
 
i wasn't mocking him i was just trying to help and if it came out wrong or got though of as wrong i'm really sorry and i mean it!!!!
 
sometimes i just type and don't proof read and my wife said to check it out first before sending off. will do that more from now on to make sense.

I would slow down a little and get familiar with what you're doing as far as picking out a rom after your rooted I suggest either cm 7 or c t mod and then run them for a while read the posts on each 1 thoroughly I would leave overclocking frother on down the line after your use to running roms using Odin. Once you are use to odin go and get for hroarks clockwork mod and flash that
Clockwork mod along with odin will be your life saver incase something messes up

Translation: I would like to root and overclock my prevail tomorrow, and would like more information.

Overclocking is built into several kernels, which i will get into shortly

Translation: I would also like to remove all the bloatware, like google maps, and the boost apps. I never use them. Also, is there anything else i need to know concerning overclocking?

Installing a new rom will usually remove all the unnecessary junk from your phone. Most phones seem to run well on the Overclock settings, but you may need to turn up the minimum a little if you experience lots of lag when you wake up the phone, or turn down the maximum if your phone locks up a lot

First things first:ALL HAIL MIGHTY ODIN! This is the easiest way to root your phone. Plus, if something horrible happens and your phone won't work, this can usually save it.

Next, CTmod, with included KoumaKernel. Although there are many different roms and they are all good, I think CTmod is the easiest for newbies, since it's already optimized, has all the programs you need to overclock, and generally kick ass. Plus, its updated regularly.

Don't worry about it. It usually takes me forever to type out anything, since i do the ol' two-finger-hunt-and-peck method, and I have to constantly reword everything. Damn southern education. I only wish i could speak as well as i typed.

thats me too and thx for understanding and no harm ever meant, like said before will try to proof read and see if understandable. thanks to all and glad i tried to make good on this so everyone wouldn't think bad of me thx again for understanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
will i be able to use my phone right after i root it or do i need to downlaod more thing on to it i just want to root it and get rid of the bloat ware and then wory about the overclocking and other stuff down the road but i should b able to use phone the samr way after i root it right...sory for all the ???

only thing is that tread and info doesn't have updates and new info so might want to search in the active threads and posts that do update new info.

you will be able to use it after rooting just like now and then can make changes as needed:D

and i mean changes as you are ready to move on to the next thing you want to do
