Root i am really confused :(

i am having trouble unlocking boot loader im not sure of how to do it can some one plz help i have seen the videos and i have gone to the links that i have seen on this forum but im confused i have tried this one[GUIDE] Root L9 ICS/JB with New Lelus method & Offline Flashing [LOCKED BL] [31-Mar] - xda-developers but im not sure what to do since this is the l9 from metro

I'm already rooted but I'm confused about unlocking it??:/
I know there are many posts about unlocking the bootloader but I find them confusing

Thanks and also do I use all the same files for T-Mobile even if I'm on metro?

well ummm I tried wht the link said and well I think I might of bricked my phone.......................................................... its stuck at the upgrade screen.......... and I tried the support tool and tried to do the upgrade recovery but it just gets stuck on downloading software

Im assuming you flashed the t-mobile version while trying to unlock and got stuck on the wrong boot img. Try to select the T-Mobile p769 software version on the upgrade tool and see if that works.

thanks i tried to flash it using this[GUIDE] [UNBRICK][ROOT] FLASH Any LG Factory ROM (kdz) WITH OFFLINE FIX - xda-developers but it gets stuck on 4% how could this be fixed or worked around any suggestions???? you can give me?????? thanks
