Hi guys I need your help. it's my first time posting here .

I have M9 and first time I had installed unlocked/developer version of firmware 1.32.617.30 and performed full installation of insertcoin ROM ICE 3.1.2 and it installed successfully but didn't boot . It was stucked on starting apps screen then it rebooted and continiued optimizing apps from 0 to 158 and repeated this cycle all the time . Then I installed firmware 2.10.401.1 (read that it was based on latest firmware ) but the resuilt was the same . Now I have installed lollipop 5.0.2 Insertcoin 2.1.6 and it works well but why amn't I able to update it to 5.1.1 ? am I doing something wrong ? I also tried to install Android Revolution HD rom, and other 5.1.1 based roms but problem still remains.

thank you for atteniton.

Are you using a up to date custom recovery? I assume you have S off due to you stating you updated the firmware.
Which recovery are you using Cwm or Twrp?
Are you using the nightlies or a stable version?
Are you doing a factory reset before or after flashing the ROM's ?

James I got so happy when I saw your reply :D you are the first person ever who replied my post and shall try to explain everything you asked clearly .

I am using latest 2.8.7.0 TWRP custom recovery.
I use stable rom .
I haven't done factory reset but I wipe data , cache and dalvik cache and as I know it's enough or it's the same .

The second strange thing I noticed is that I amn't able to install RUU . Installation gives error 120 that is about battery percentage (Battery level is lower than 30 % ) . and also when I use <fastboot getvar all> command the resuilt is following >

C:\SDK\platform-tools>fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) max-download-size: 0x20000000
(bootloader) partition-type:cache: ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:cache: 0x14000000
(bootloader) partition-type:userdata: ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:userdata: 0x5e0000000
(bootloader) partition-type:system: ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:system: 0x118000000
all:
finished. total time: 0.096s

but I think that if I run android 5.0.2 witout any problems there should be a way to upgrade.

thank you for attention .

Who's the carrier?
From what i see you're not fully up to date as far as the firmware version.
2.11.617.15 is the 5.1 RUU version

its factory unlocked/developer version I installed M9_2.8.617.4_NoWipe_NoRed unlocked/developer version of recovery and also tested M9_2.10.401.1_NoWipe_NoRed WWE But nothing changed.

Sorry between work and college courses i haven't been on the site much. Do you have S off?
If not that would be alot of the reason you're having issues. As root and S off are two different things. With S off you can flash firmware easily to match whatever the rom base is and eliminate most issues if not all.

You welcome)) Yes I have S-off. any ideas?

When you're running "fastboot getvar all" download mode?
As i don't see the cid or mid in your output a few posts prior. If you run the command in download mode, it should show your cid and mid in the output.
Once i see that i can offer a different option as far as flashing a RUU manually in zip form.

For example the international wwe model id would be 0PJA10000
And the AT&T / Developer Edition would be 0PJA11000
Then i need this as well.

cidnum: BS_US001

cidnum: BS_US002

I like to make sure things are 100% correct.
And would hate to point you to the wrong files.

I use "fastboot getvar all "in fastboot mode not in download mode. As I did it on m7. Its developer version so it's OPJA110 it's written on the device. And I pasted the resuilt a few posts prior I know that it must show cid, mid, meid, battery voltage phone model and etc. but we both see that it doesn't.

Thank you for helping.

Ok that's the issue than. On the M9 fastboot mode will not provide the info i was looking for.
I assume your familiar with adb/fastboot etc. So from a normal boot if you type adb reboot download you will get to download mode as it's different then the M7. From there you can run fastboot getvar all and it will provide the info i was asking for.

I will link you to how and the correct files tomorrow afternoon. My brain is fried currently from working and studying.
It's not hard at all flashing the RUU zip/firmware zip and will work. Tip: You will need the HTC fastboot file not the one from the Android SDK for it to work.
It's 1:09 am here now so lets say by noon tomorrow my time i will post what you need.

Hello James from my HTC one M9 With 5.1.1 sense 7 :D ))))) thanks alot your words were key to my solution . I read somewhere that HTC has replaced fastboot with donwload mode and I ran RUU in download mode :)) and now everything works fine )thank you very much . I thought that I had damaged fastboot and was dissapointed )))
