Root I bid farewell. D:

HaTrEd360

Android Expert
You guys won't see me around anymore on the Elite forums. The girl I was dating is the one with the Elite and she has broken up with me for good and I won't have the phone to test or do anything on any longer.

It's been great though you guys are all friendly and I hope to see you around on another thread on another device forum. :]

Later guise!

Stay in touch man. If you are staying on vm of any kind, dont get the one v. Rom development is sh*t. Roms built left unfinished and broken and sense 4 in general runs like sh*t on this phone. Pick above the one v unless you want a battery draining lag fest with sense or buggy aokp,cm,etc...Im looking at a galaxy variant. The One V is history for me.

Wish I can help with the one v.

im pretty handy with droid, but sense is just an unoptimized pile of dung overall. you can mod the hell out of it attempting to optimize how it uses the system and it still doesnt help. you will get a few good days of use on a fresh install but after that it turns into a turd floating in the preverbial android toilet lol.

I haven't met you Hatred360, but I'm sad to hear you go. I hope you meet a girl with the S3 so you can participate more in the S3 forums, Me and my S3 friends are always looking for cool things to do with our S3's. Farewell and take care. Regards,

Haha. You must be HaTrEd360's GF.

No. I don't know who that is. But they can kiss my ass. :P lol.

Curtis I don't have the Elite. I haven't since February. I only stayed on the forum here since my gf had the Elite because I gave it to her so I still used her phone to test stuff lol.

Thank you Artine!

I will stay in touch but it's not going to be often anymore. I just started working my first job. (Dishwasher at a Great Wolf Lodge.) So I'm really busy now.

As for who it was mentioned the S3. I don't know. the first girl I met at my new job has one LOL. But she seems a little different and I don't know if we'd be a good match haha.

I have an Evo V 4G Btw Curtis. I recommend you getting that phone, achieving S-Off via Wire Trick. (Use a colored paperclip with the rubber on it) then install 4ext recovery and install Blurom. (It's badass blue themed stock rom. Look it up it's pretty awesome!) If you don't care for the 3D capability you can upgrade to any version of Jellybean. This phone has SO MUCH DEVELOPMENT. And you can use almost ANY ROM from the CDMA Evo 3D as well. Just have go apply MMS fixes which is sometimes imported anyways. :P I believe there is about 25-35 different Roms for it. More then 10 kernels. You can use Boot Manager and dual boot roms through an SDCard. (No Jellybean tho!)

So much capability. I absolutely love this phone. :] only thing I hate is battery life. I dont use Juice Defender though. (I like a clean status bar.) On the stock battery I get maybe 9 hours or so of minimal use. Maximum I get like 5. But my nandroids are about 1.5GB's and I have a LOT of stuff running constantly so that's my reason. I've had it since February 2nd as well. :] I would recommend it to anyone! As long as you S-Off it. (Which does take patience if it takes more then a few tries you're doing it wrong or need a rubber wrapped paperclip l like I mentioned.) I was a dumbass though and it took me 8 hours to achieve it. (Trooper!!!) Most ppl it takes 15 minutes. Lol.

It was nice being around here though. I hope Ken gets his job and whatnot and gets his Roms updated. I look forward to checking and seeing Sleipnir updated as well. I hope to see CM9 have a working Camera in a few months too. If I see that camera working I might just contact my ex and tell her to give me 50$ to install CM9 hahaha! She has reboots on all other ROMs every half hour. Lol.

Anyways I gotta go and find some hotties to flirt with now.

(I really wish Tapatalk would stop giving me errors so I could change my profile picture as well. XD)

Which also might be why my battery is shit on the Evo V. BluROM has an aroma installer and i use the Sense launcher option it provides. Idk I just like it. Sense 3.6. Android. 4.0.3 I mean it works great for me. Lol.

i have tried a thousand different combinations to optimize sense with no results worth posting about. sense it self is a bloated interface sitting on top of the android code its sucking the life from. for instance..lets say you are running an ics variant of sense 4.1 or 4.0...you can simply DELETE the sense browser and install stock ics browser and watch an immediate improvement in battery life. same goes for email and the other apps that can be replaced. but the main culprit is htc's framework resources, system ui and settings...complete trash.

i may look at the evo..but have been hawking a samsung galaxy..not sure yet. have the cash just havent made my mind up. and hey a dishwashing job is an honorable job bro. any job is. so be proud of it and make the best of it. as for the girlfriend stuff...well they come n go bro lol.

Breaking up sucks, sounds like you're taking it in stride tho... Sorry to see you go.

I'd recommend the galaxy myself... I've been enjoying mine for a few months now. Lots of great roms to choose from. My only complaint is the screen is a battery hog... I have learned to conserve battery though and can generally get through a whole day without a problem, which is good enough for me.

Any of the manufacturers overlays seem to be resource whores. Blur is awful, touchwiz and of course sense all are nearly pointless and more of a performance inhibitor. I really think the end user, even a non rooted one should have a vanilla option. Just saying.

In a perfect world these overlays would be nothing more than apps you can download from the play store. Like custom launchers

You can change the splash screen easily with the Evo V. And if you don't care for the 3D camera you can go to Jellybean and use PacMAN Rom. Or Paranoid android and yeah. And the amount of support is crazy. Problem with the Galaxy S3 or or S2 I believe is the kernels are linked with the recovery so they are always installed together sadly. Meaning you can probably only use certain recoveries with certain ROMs. I do get shit battery life with sense but I don't care. They have Midnight ROM too for the Evo V. Idk the price right now but I bought mine for 180 on February 2nd. You can do soooo much with it it's crazy. It has a lot of great ROMs. Before you make your choice Curtis I recommend you browse the Evo V forum and the Evo 3D forum and look at the ROMs. You can overclock to 1.9ghz as well with the right kernel.

If you do get the Evo V you'll probably be happy with the CM10.1 ROMs for it. There's a completely stable one that has everything working including 4G except for the 3D cam. (Which will probably never work on anything higher then ICS because HTC won't release the source for 3D.)

The Senseless ROMs are available in ICS or JB. You can even use the Gingerbread ROMs from the Evo 3D. You can flash different radios for signal and Wimax radios as well for better 4G. (Ppl report different ones work better for them.) Just please contact me if you do decide to get one. :] Never really been a fan of the Galaxy tho. Too big for me. Ha. You can use Phablet mode on PA or PacROM anyways. ;)
Like a regular HTC tho to root it and install a ROM, you have to unlock the Bootloader through HTCDev.com which was easy for me anyways. To flash kernels and use the RUU on the latest OTA tho you need to be S-Off. You can flash kernels through Fastboot otherwise. I also use 4ext recovery (you can even flash themes for it! My recovery, home screen wallpaper, and splashscreen all have the same background and theme) to flash kernels while being S-On using the smart flash feature within the recovery.

Several recoveries to choose from as well.

Oh and I'm sorry as this thread has gone off topic mods. ;) please don't close it tho. It's just a friendly conversation and because you guys love me and won't do that to me hopefully. :P

Just keep in mind tho if you hate Sense completely and choose the Evo V. Use CM10.1 or the Senseless ROM. Both have great features. Every ROM does and pretty much none of them have problems that weren't already fixed. :]

Yeah, the kernel/recovery thing for the galaxy does suck. I came very close to getting an Evo V when I was looking for a new phone, The specs on it are really quite decent even for it's age. My mind was made up when I came across a one-day sale for the S2 for $230 so I jumped on it. Now the Evo V isn't even listed on the VM website. It's been sold out at most stores for several months now according to what I've read. If you do find one I'd snatch it up before it's too late.

That tells you that the Evo V is so popular they can't even keep up their production with the demand. ;) If anyone buys one contact me and I'll help you with anything. :]

I hated my HTC One V now im using the Galaxy S2 4G. It's a huge difference between the two. :D

I have the Galaxy Victory and it's awesome! I few people on here changed from the GS2 to the GV and said the GV was much more responsive
