Help I cannot update to the newest android version why is this?

I'm using a LG G3 and cannot upgrade to the newest version of android. I keep getting the dead android boot logo why is this?

If all your getting to is the dead android boot logo then you may have had a failed over the air update that is causing a bootloop. Try a hard reset and get your device back to the factory fresh state. You'll have to reinstall your apps but it should give you access to the marshmallow update. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-mobile have already released their updates for the LG G3.
