I can't find my Voice Recorder files

By default, the S3 Voice Recorder saves files to an SD Card folder. At some point, I changed that via the app's settings menu so it saves them to the phone. I want to transfer recordings to my PC, but when I connect via USB, I can't find the files.

I am connecting the phone as a media device using MTP.

I have searched for posts by other forum members with this problem, but the closest I have come is one in which the member's recordings were on the SD card, not on the phone.

Help?

When connected to your PC you should have 2 drives showing in Windows Explorer, one for your external SD and the other for the built-in memory of your GS3. Look in the built-in partition for a folder named 'Sounds' and your recordings should be in there.

My phone also does not work anymore, but there are some recordings of my daughter just starting to talk that I would like to recover. My husband found your post last night and found that folder but it was empty. He is wondering if the files would be listed as hidden files when viewed by windows explorer which connected via USB. He tried to "unhide" the files in windows and that didn't work either. We have a Lookout app back up system and he is hoping that will work. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated!!
