I cured my 2.1 OTA woes!!!

For all you Harley guys ... they're great to look at. I hate the aftermarket "sound" you guys hold so dear to your heart ... err ... ears. I just don't get it. And as for riding them, well ... let's just say that HD isn't very technology-driven. :D :D :D

In short: They're slow, handle like a pig, and are over-priced. Thank GAWD they're gorgeous! ;) I don't mind looking at them from time to time. Some day when I'm older and have many bikes, one of them will be a Harley.

Keep trying!! I wouldn't trade my E-Glide for anything, at least for a bit anyway. I do miss my Night Train though, sometimes.

Congrats on the new ride Messenger, stay safe out there!!
I'm going to keep trying to convince him, but trying to convince a 37 YO lawyer of anything is tough. :)

I love my Ultra and my Sportster, but I'll admit, I'll probably beg him to let me ride his Concourse at least once.

Went online ... did some shopping. Found the best price and pulled the trigger. I ain't mad at anybody anymore!!! :D

What's this have to do with the Moto DROID??? The DROID will be mounted to this baby ... one way or another. And, fully integrated into the Bluetooth communication system.

Picking it up tomorrow.

Congrats on the new ride!

This is the one bike that almost made me come over to the dark side (translated as Japanese bikes) when I was looking for a replacement for my Duc. I chose an Aprilia instead, and couldn't be happeier, but the 'Course is a nice ride.

Enjoy and be safe!

I want one of these

Bike go fast enough, and you can't get a much smoother ride than on the fat boy...

In May I'm flying out to the westcoast for a long weekend of riding. I'll be atop a Ducati HyperMotard 1100S. I'm really looking forward to that!

But really ... no such thing as a bad bike. ;)

I'll agree with some of what you say. I don't like really loud pipes either. I don't like to after market pipes on metric bikes that make them sound like a weed eater or chainsaw either. As far as thechnology goes, it takes some engineering to make a Harley EPA compliant and still retain the things we like, i.e. V-twin, air cooled, tons of torque. I'm happy with the FI, cruise control, stereo, ABS, air suspension, CB, 6 speed, etc. It's all the technology I need. They are expensive because it costs a lot to make them all metal with minimum plastic, not to mention the high cost of US union labor.

The only thing that comes close to the long distance comfort is a Gold Wing and I don't like the seating position on them. My old legs don't bend like that any more.

I've owned Japanese and British bikes as well as Harleys and I've liked them all, but for my riding style, the Harley fits me perfectly.

All that said, I can't wait to try out his Concourse!

I rode the Fat Boy Low and loved it. I might trade my old Sportster for one some day. It would make a nice stable mate to the Ultra.

Congrats. Be safe, my Father fell off his bike yesterday. Thankfully he's okay, I doubt the experience will cause him to sell it.

If I can afford it I would go with a S1000rr... I don't think it was released yet, but hopefully it will be released by the time the N1 and SS comes out. :D

Owned two Beemers previously. They make great bikes. Just glad to see that the S1000r has a chain (for several reasons). Their drive shaft bikes are failing at an alarming rate, which is why I left them.

LOL, I thought the driveshaft were more durable and requires less maintenance then chain drives. :) Good to know though.. Cheers!

I just sold my Yamaha Vstar 650...I've been seeing a lot of people getting killed on bikes lately and I love my wife too much to be another one of those statistics. I miss is but I've got to put my priorities in the right order.

That's the most absurd thing I've ever read. Most people that get killed on bikes are either ill-trained, or ill-geared. Get the training, wear the gear, and ride. It's that simple. Your post implies that anyone who rides doesn't have their priorities "in the right order". Really?

Train yourself all you want, I know too many people that have been riding since before I was born and have either been killed or severely injured. You can be aware of your surroundings all you want, all it takes is some idiot not paying attention to pull out in front of you. Also, I said MY priorities. I've never told anyone else to quit riding, just saying I felt it was the responsible thing for me to do. Sure we all die someday but I'd like to put that off as long as I can.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I just question why you had to post in this thread in the first place. Odd.

Not always the case. I've seen plenty of bikers get nailed by really bad car drivers....

It's a thread about motorcycles and riding them...my post was right on topic. Just because you don't agree doesn't mean I shouldn't post it.

Sweet ride, I've always been partial to Kaw's. So far I've had a 550LTD, 454LTD, 650C and a pair of 700LTD's. (Did own one non-Kaw, a Yamaha Seca 650 Turbo) Unfortunately I live in Kansas now and pretty much all the roads here are straight line, the ones with any nice curves in them have sand and gravel on them, and I'm a knee dragger, so I've given up riding. Still miss the hell out of it though. Hope you have a lot of fun on that thing.

Sounds to me like you need a track bike. I've been known to drag several knees on a few tracks in OH, and GA. As well as some roads.
