I dig the flush buttons!

Prior to my purchase, like most I did a fair amount of research and every review complains about the near flush volume and power buttons. I like them! It's nice not accidentally pressing them. It's also visually nicer looking. I don't get why reviews knock the buttons. How many times have you pulled your phone from your pocket and the screens been on or worse pocket called someone? I had a flip phone that was one click from buying an overpriced ringtone from Verizon when I retrieved it from my pocket. I dig the near flush buttons.

I agree with you on the cosmetics and the security but with the case I bought they can be a real pain. Getting my phone on is a two handed affair and on my phone it is nearly impossible to get volume exactly right. I wish they were ever so slightly more protruding.

And here I thought the Rezound was bluetooth connected to your toilet so it could be flushed remotely from your phone.
Next you'll tell me the earbuds can be used* to unclog the toilet using Beats sonic vibrations to break up and dislodge the obstruction?

*Lysol not included.

For the case...maybe get some toothpicks and stick them on the inside (might want to use a "school" glue like Elmer's for testing) right where the buttons are? That might make it a little easier, but not sure which case you have. If those spots are open and not covered, that would be more difficult...I probably wouldn't walk around with toothpicks stuck to the sides of my Rezound :p

I wonder, one other thought, since it's a black case, try cutting some electrical tape in small strips to help them have more of a bump?
Random ideas in case they start you on something good.
