Newbie
I was running a rooted droid x 2.3.3 on leaked 4.5 i was attempting to update to the newest leaked 4.8. I have tried wiping cache and factory reset. I tried this multiple times and rebooted only to be thrown into bootloop. at that point i was able to reach recovery and tried to revert back to an older back up and that has since failed and now i go into boot loop and cant get into recovery. i need help asap please.

Hold the home key down while re-inserting the battery keep it pressed until the recovery comes up. That will get you to that point. An SBF might be in order back to Froyo. Just my guess.

the "older back up" that you tried going to was it a back up of .573 GB? IF it was a backup that you made of a Froyo build then you are screwed.

i think you mean the leaked .573 and you were trying to go to .588.

you sir may be about to learn how to SBF back to stock if you don't already know how. Also....i'm not sure its even worth jumping from .573 to .588 I'm still just running the first leak (.573)

maybe... either way i do not know how to SBF and would love to be assisted in getting back to stock. I can not get into recovery however. So Yes I screwed up, i dont know how or where i went wrong. If i can get out of this mess i wont be rooting again.

are you using D2 Bootstrapper?? if not thats your problem, otherwise i would recommend an SBF

Android 2.2.1 System Version 2.3.340 Full (VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01)

its never fun to do these things, but if you device is giving you that much difficulty and your not able to get into recovery

power+home then quit holding power and hold home until the exclamation point

or you can remove the battery
put it back in and try again
if that still doesnt work, you may need to do an sbf.
but this time install the gb leak you want first!

go to section 4, read about SBF'ing via RSD

...and you are now the second person in the last hour on here that i know has needed to learn how to SBF....must be something in the air today.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AT LEAST 60% BATTERY LIFE

or just download rsd lite 4.9 from the internet, install the latest motorola drivers
then cut your phone off,
hold vol down+camera+power and wait for the screen to have a quick flash
then release and your in the bootloader screen
plug your usb from your computer to your phone
open RSD Lite (after you installed it and the moto drivers)
locate the SBF file that i gave to you in my previous post
hit start
wait possibly 10 minutes
once the phone reboots and you see the moto M
remove the battery
now put it back in
and hold power+home
release power once the phone is turning on but keep holding the home button
until you see the android exclamation
then hit search
wipe data, factory reset
wipe cache
reboot
and your done
process takes about 15 mins

any problems let us know ^_^

just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. You won't be having to buy a new phone. It's recoverable

if you have a reader you can throw it on there from a pc and get into the recovery and load it

is there anywhere to get a one on one chat, please excuse my ignorance but i managed to ****ing brick my phone i would hate to turn it into a paper weight for real while doing this shit. i have no idea how much battery i have left after 100 attempts at trying to reach recovery...

please talk to me in lehmans terms. im fairly computer savvy but apparently not so android savvy... a reader? what kind of reader?

the SBF link is broken? well i dont get off work for another 30 mins
and i will walk you through it, what you need to do, is leave the phone alone for a minute, plug it into your charger for 30 mins, and we will continue, i will send you a PM and give you some contact info for myself ok?
but i dont know what your battery is at so you need to turn it off
leave it alone
and have it plugged into your charger
i hope you can wait at least 30 mins ^_^

Back to stock which is actually great! You guys were huge in helping me. I thank you all and especially thanks because i didnt want to go back to a lame verizon feature phone! Thanks again !
