Root I don't think I like MIUI all that much.

Just saying. Maybe if I see a fully working MIUI ICS ROM I may change my mind.
I would like MIUI if they replaced the home screen mess with an app drawer. That's one key reason why I got an Android phone, anyhow, and not an iPhone. But some people may like it, so I suppose everyone is entitled to their own opinion... :)

MIUI just don't seem so stable to me. Maybe it is just me, but when I flashed the new MIUI I got a buttload of force closes. The launcher specifically was force closing like crazy. I had to go back to CM7 which I prefer anyway.

Well, you know what they say about the KISS principle in programming... With more functionality comes more crashes. :( But I'm incredibly thankful for CM7's stability.

Yeah I am sticking with CM7 from now on. CM7 gets even better when you flash b kernel.

There is an app drawer on the new MIUI. You have to drag downwards on the upper right of the screen under the status bar. I am pretty sure that you have to enable it first though.

Pretty sure theres no app drawer at least not that ive found. But im running miui with go launcher cause i like the transparent staus bar and the mods you can do plus its so smooth to me.

The app drawer is only available when you have the stock MIUI launcher, which I personally cannot stand just because of the weird horizontal widget editing feature.

i agree about the widgets... its kinda weird... but how much time do u spend adding widgets? the stock music, web browser, file manager, messenger, lock screen, contacts, and settings are well worth having to deal with the widget issue... and i keep a folder for all apps i dont want to see on a daily basis... if u have many force closes you may want to try reinstalling, i havent seen one in months

The main reason why I don't like MIUI is because of all the force closes I would get on either of the ROMs. When the launcher keeps force closing like crazy then you know somethings is amiss. I never have an issue with force closes when running CM7.

I suppose if one wanted to clean up the "home screen mess" they could install a launcher from the market and set it as the default:rolleyes:

The force closes are quite annoying, but so far I've not had that problem with the current version (2.4.20v3). Clearing data via the app manager seemed to help in the early stages after flashing previous versions.

I've used miui a few times never had a lot of f.c's, and just put all my apps in a folder on the dock tada app drawer, but if u don't like the force closes fix em don't see the need in starting a thread talking badly about the rom,

I am not talking badly about the ROM I just am very displeased with all the force closes. It is kind of upsetting once you get all your apps and settings where you want them and then bam force closes from every angle. There is not even the option to attempt to try and fix anything because the force closes start as soon as the phone boots up. The launcher force closes like crazy. Also I downloaded and installed all my apps from the Play Store this time, but there was no difference.

Don't restore apps from titanium backup or anything like it and you wont get force closes I had to figure that out myself...

I think that's a good point. I run MIUI w/ essentially no FCs now. What I think did the trick was just what you mentioned. I waded through countless FCs and once I got everything where I wanted it, made a nandroid backup in CWM rather than in Titanium (or other backup utility). Then factory reset, wipe caches, and restored from the CWM backup. Seemed to fix things in my case.

**I'm not trying to come across as a MIUI "fanboy", I'm certainly very pleased with the CM7-based ROMs I've tried. But I'd rather see a thread about fixing what you don't like about a ROM or are having issues with.

I went back to miui to see if i got the launcher f.c's, onky time i did was when i changed homescreen settings the columns, got launcher has stopped working. Only question, why not post bug report on the OP you downloaded from to notify so it can be looked into. This thread is in wrong place.

Custom Roms like MIUI and CM9 makes my phone reboot and over heat.
I agreed with your statement.
I lost two phones, because of MIUI and CM9 Roms.
I'm not knocking nobody down, but the risk is two high.
I'm sticking with the official Rom
Thanks Devs for your hard work

Um.... the camera doesn't work with cm 9... or miui 4... but you should have known that by reading about the rom before installing... right?
