Help I don't understand ...

I'm new to the Android Wear world, with my new Hauwei Watch. There are some basic things I don't understand.
First, app management. I have apps appearing on my watch that I don't want to be there, and a lot of apps on my phone (Nexus 5, Android 6) that I would like to show up on my watch (e.g. Google Keep). How is this managed? I can not find any way on the watch or in the Android Wear app to do this. What am I missing?
Second, unwanted notifications. I keep getting notifications about a flight I was tracking a week ago. I do the dismiss thing, but they keep coming back, along with origin and destination weather. I can't tell where they are coming from. How to get rid of them?
Third, unwanted info. I have no interest in fitness tracking. Whty does it keep telling me how many steps I've taken? How to turn this off?
Can anyone help me to love my watch a little more? Thanks

Hi @MikeInMexico! I'm pretty new to Android Wear myself, but maybe I can provide some helpful info anyway.

  1. You don't really get any control over what apps get installed on your watch. If an application on your phone includes an Android Wear piece, it automatically gets installed on your watch. If you uninstall the application from your phone, it (eventually) gets removed from the watch as well. There's no way to remove an app from the watch without removing it from your phone. That said, I'm pretty sure Keep was preinstalled on my Huawei Watch, and it synced fine out of the box. I'm not sure why you wouldn't e seeing it on yours.
  2. I'm guessing that the flight tracking notification is coming from the Google app. Try launching that app on your phone to see if you have a card for it. You can go into the Google app (again, on your phone) to configure what sort of cards you'd like to see, so you should be able to get that to stop. If it's not from the Google app, swipe the notification on the watch all the way to the left and you should see a "Block App" notification. Android Wear uses an explicit blacklist for controlling which apps are allowed (or rather, aren't allowed) to send notifications to your wrist, so choosing the "Block App" option will prevent that application from generating any further notifications on your watch.
  3. Next time you get the steps notification, swipe it to the left a few times and there should be an option to turn off the app.
Hope that helps a bit. A lot of it is just digging through apps and settings and such to figure out how it all fits together.

Good luck! :)
