Help I factory rest my epic now it doesn't work

Hello, I have an epic on another carrier from another country. I bought it already configured for this carrier. 2 months ago I loaded Truly Epic rom on it and had been working great but thanks to that badly coded "Spectral Souls" app in the market I realised things werent working all that well. To top that off, the GPS wasnt working. So I did a factory reset and after that my phone does not get a 3G signal anymore and when I turn it on it says "Activation not completed" and when I try to activate and do the hands free activation it just hangs there and eventualy crashes.

Any way to fix it? I tried going back to the original eclair and I am on that right now but its still not working and it still says I need to activate.

Any Ideas?

There is a tutorial on flashing the epic to work on Cricket somewhere. Let me find it and I'll post a link.

I don't know if it will help but the general setting changes to get everything working are there...just not specifically in regards to carriers other than Cricket. Fingers crossed for you.

Did you ever make a backup or does that rom make a backup to try to get the phone settings back?

If it was modified to work for a specific carrier (sounds like Cricket) then when you did a factory reset, you probably lost that modification. I don't know what it entails, but you'll have to go through those steps again.

Seems like you have some steps posted from another user above, so follow those and report back what you come up with.

I did a clockwork backup and even when I restored everything the phone was still asking me to do the hands free activation, so I dont know whats up. It seems like that restore didnt get me back to how I was before.

Do you guys have any idea on how to bypass that annoying sprint handsfree activation crap?

Well I found a guide that had the settings for my carrier (Iusacell in Mexico) and I got it to work.. sadly the 3g speeds are not nearly as fast as the network here can achieve. Some people configure their epics at over 1000kbps down here and mine is getting 60kbps download speeds but at least I have 3G... and voice.

So yeah, mission succesfull I guess. I am going to stay in eclair btw... I loved truly epic but my GPS didnt work and a game I purchased (spectral souls) wasnt working properly either and now my gps works fine and I will try spectral souls in a bit.

Once an official froyo build comes out Ill upload to that I guess.
