I fully flashed my Volt to Page Plus. Works perfect, but I do get sim card error.

So I finally figured out how to fully flash my new LG Volt to Page Plus. Everything works great: phone, text, data, MMS, etc.

However, after the phone has been on a few minutes the following happens:

A "Self Service" screen pops up and says:

"Sorry - we are unable to complete this task. Please call your service provider for assistance."

I can click "Done" or "Exit" both which seem to do the same thing. I have no idea what this message is about, but it doesnt seem to be causing any problem.

But then, 10 or 20 minutes later this pops up:

"The network did not respond in time. The SIM card has locked. Please power cycle the device and if the problem persists contact Customer Service."

Prompt options are "Cancel" and "OK" both exiting the prompt.

AFTER this error occurs, data does not work until I restart the phone, as far as I can tell.

So, how do I proceed? Do I take a sim card out of this LG Volt?

What next?

Thanks for any and all help.

You need a Page Plus SIM card.
There's a UUIC unlock option in settings... If you can activate that it might fix it too.

Hi, thank you for the reply. I just tried the UUIC unlock, but unfortunately it fails due to authentication error.

I didn't know I could get a Page Plus SIM card for this. I'll go ahead and do that now. Is there any particular type, dealer, or source that you recommend?

Thank you again for helping!

Just thought I would post an update. I ordered the sim card and I will update this thread with the results when it arrives. I'm assuming I'll have to re-activate the phone with PP when I put the new sim in, but I'm not sure.

You are already activated with them, so I don't think so. The card just has all the authorization stuff so you're allowed on their 4G network.

Well, no luck. I put the new SIM card in but now the phone just displays "No SIM card - Searching for Service".

Any idea what to do now? PP was no help.

How did you get the LG Volt flashed to Page Plus?
I used wireless workshop but I'm starting to wonder if it really works right. After the phone is on 20 or so minutes the sim card locks and data is unusable until reboot. I was told by them to click "cancel" instead of "ok" on the lock prompt and that would solve the problem, but it makes no difference. Not sure what my next step will be. :/

Who's they? P+, or the Workshop people? Whichever one it was, try talking to the other.
Try updating profile?

Neither PP or wireless workshop is a help at this point. I tried both. None of the update profile or other update functions on that screen will work. They all fail with authentication errors.
