I didn't think it would come, but holy crap! when i saw it i couldn't believe it! I'm excited as all hell! I know some of you wont believe me, so i took a screen shot so you can see:

I've never gotten a tax return that large! I don't know what i'll do with it! maybe buy the HTC Incredible so i can have a phone with android 2.1?
 
there was a small sliver of hope that this was going to be about **finally** receiving 2.1, but alas, that hope has been poo-pooed on again. congrats on your big tax return though. don't spend it all in one place!

i wanted it to seem like it was a 2.1 thread. i know you guys dont give 2 hoots about how much someone got back from their taxes. trying to tug on some emotional strings here!:D

I got my refund back quite some time ago, however, so it's almost forgotten. The update is

We are getting about that this year. I was stupid this year and waited until the 14th to do my taxes. I was just dreading it so much for some reason. Turbo tax had me done in just under 4 hours though. Did, mine and my girl's both. This is the only time of year I am glad we can't get married. No marriage penalties. ;)

That's about what me and my wife got back as well. But who can remember what there actual taxes were. I know I can't, As soon as we heard how much we were getting back I forgot about everything else.:D
 
Got about that much, and spent it by the weekend..........DAMN KIDS, always needing to wear clothes and stuff!!!

Doesn't that just piss you off? I get so angry when they want food too. I mean really, they ate yesterday. When is it ever enough? :p
 
Congratulations to everyone on their refund and for making an interest free loan to the government. Would anyone care to make an interest free loan to me?
 
Your tax refund isn't new money, it's simply the amount that you overpaid during the year. It's like handing the clerk a $20 bill for a $15 item and then getting excited when the clerk gives you your $5 in change back a year later.

There is wisdom in not overpaying in the first place.
 
I know well about the interest free loan deal, my wife is a tax auditor for the state. We plan its this way because we need extra money this time of year for our kids cheer leading travel. We have been to dc, atlantic city, baltimore, philly, myrtle beach, ocmd, and in a few weeks we will be in va beach. We aren't very good at saving money so it works out well.

Many people don't actually pay that much in taxes. They use tax credits and deductions that you pay for with high income. Sucks doesn't it? :cool:

I just knew there was going to be some financial person saying how we should adjust our deductions blah blah blah.

I, like Caddyman, prefer to do it this way. Sure I could've earned a whole 1.5% interest on it and all but this is guarnteed vacation money to support my cruise habit.:D

So the government was correct, they are better with your money than you are. And who says communism doesn't work?
