Help I HATE AT&T. Now, can anyone help me connect this phone to the Internet!?!?

OK, so I got this AT&T Captivate about 2 months ago. Workerd great. Ran circles around the fetid piece of feces that was the HTC Aria I had.

Then, yesterday, for no reason, it suddenly decided that it will NOT connect to the Internet. I can't get it to used 3G (the icon won't appear at the top) nor any wireless networks that I find free.

Why? Why does everything AT&T put their hands to turn to sewage? Why are they the most incompetent, lazy idiots in business in America?

But more pressing, why did my phone do this? I am no techie, so talk of rooting phones or flashing go over my head. Please be gentle, but if anyone can help me I would appreciate it profoundly!
Thanks

Whoa. That was fast.

Just Googled and found this fix on another site, but I guess according to the post I read it only works if it says "Cingular" underneath Access Point Names:

Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
Inside that option go to Menu > Reset to default.
(Reboot your phone)

Hope this helps someone else!

But AT&T still sucks.

I feel the need to say that proclaiming "I hate AT&T" did nothing to fix your problem. If these post's are at all an indication as to the attitude in which you had spoke with an AT&T customer rep, I'm sure they were more than unwilling to help you. In defense of telecommunication companies...ignorance may not cause many of the issues that are common with our wireless devices, but it sure does make it difficult to work with a customer whose more willing to point a finger than actually fix the issue.

With that said, I would like to think AT&T "hates" customers with this mentality.
