I HATE this new Sprint "Telenav"!

Every dang time I go to use this, I get the "downloading files for first time use" crap and am forced to wait several minutes while the thing downloads files--again.

I can understand if this occurred the FIRST time I used it, but every time? What a PITA!

Why couldn't they have kept the wonderful Sprint navigation? I never had a problem with that.

I've been a Google maps lover since it was introduced. Try setting google maps as your default.

I use it for public transportation or walking directions in various cities and its very very accurate.

Give it a try.

THat is not normal. Clear Data for the app and try again.

Sprint's Navigation (TeleNav) has always worked pretty well for me. I don't even use a dedicated GPS because of it. You can try Google Nav if you don't like it, it works well too.

I had a problem when I went to do the update to telenav(I know it has always been, technically) . I would download repeatedly and no dice. I retried the download with the stock browser and it worked. Previous attempts were done through Opera.

go with google maps.. and get more

You mean like more inaccurate listings? No thanks. I stopped using Google Maps after the, I don't know, 100th time it gave me horribly inaccurate information. Apparently they don't have much info for the CITY OF CHICAGO AND ITS SUBURBS!!!

And Telenav STILL sucks! Every damn time I go to use it, it gives me that annoying, prolonged "Downloading files for first time use" message!

Interesting, I have have great outcomes with both Telenav/Sprint Navigation and Google Maps for Navigation. And, Telenav updated just fine for me on the first attempt.

I too have had good luck with Sprint/Telenav and Google. I also have been quite happy with CoPilot. Either way the options for navigation that we have made me regret buying a navigation system. Would have rather gone with a DVD system. As it is I have far more poi and a better looking UI on all of the above compared to my Pioneer navigation.

My Garmin in-car unit is still the best. Its blue tooth phone pairs up well with my EVO, and I find its accuracy far better than Google Maps.

I just used the new Sprint Telnav for the first time in quite awhile (I used it quite a bit with my old Pre). Had no problems whatsoever - like the new features.
