So today I finally realized that my 5 year old Linksys WRT54G router is about 3 years due for a firmware update and that was probably the reason I couldn't connect my GSII, my gf's DInc, or a friends new Kindle Fire to my home network via WiFi.
Talking to cust. support, they said they could set it up for me for around $30 or so (which I thought WTF, you should update for FREE) so I got me a new Netgear N150 today from Staples for about $10 more.
I got it going, used the WPS to get my phone connected to it (YES, finally!) but when I unplug my comp from the LAN, I lose Internet connectivity!
I am beyond frustrated with this for the night, so here I sit typing away plugged into the router... ahhh!
A buddy of mine is going to stop by and dial me in tomorrow, so I should be good in about 24 hours.
It's just my luck though. It's like I can either have my phone OR my laptop connected to WiFi, but not both at the same time, lol.
I just had to vent, because complaining to the dog just isn't the same
