Root I have a question about being "stock"....

Im thinking about updating manually to jb on my razr maxx. I see you need to be stock.

So my question is.... if i am still on .211, but have rooted and have rom toolbox with a custom bootlogo...also trying custom notification bar icons...is it still considered stock or do i have to factory reset before i load jb from my sd?

Rsd lite flash back or use matts utility. Make sure u follow directions to keep root or ull lose it like some of us. Also updating JB will make all custom ics roms obsolete and useless
 
You know, my gut says you're OK being on 211 with just logo and icon changes.
However the upgrades are fairly particular and it's sometimes surprising what makes one fail. You would PROBABLY be safe doing the update from where you are. If there's a problem it would PROBABLY just fail without causing harm.
On the other hand, take the extra 30 minutes and flash back to truly stock 211, and then update from there. We all KNOW that works.
 
you should be fine but if u tampered with anything internal like boot animations or apps, the update might fail.
 
You are otherwise "stock"? You would be miles ahead if you just fastbooted, IMHO. You'll run into less issues with a tried and true method than you will be if you have any mods done.
