Root I have no SYNC issue, HOW Do I merge/link Contacts!?

Okay unlike most topics im seeing, I have no issue syncing my FB contacts to my phone. They are all on my phone and in Contacts list.

My issue is I can not link them to contacts I have already on my Phone.

I click on FB name and it says "link contact" but it only lets me Link it to other FB contacts ! It doesnt let me link them to phone entries I already have stored on my phone !

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. this is my first post and first issue. Site looks great. I look forward to being a member and contributing. Thanks!
 
To answer your queston. You go into contacts and then click and hold on the contact and choose link. Then it lets you choose which FB account.
 
I click on FB contact it says link contact and only lets me link to other FB contacts, If i click on name already on my phone which is not a FB contact it does not provide option to link it to any other contact. I really dont understand what your saying?
