I just want to call hubby while driving

Hello... new iPhone convert here.
Hubby and I have the Galaxy S4. We do love our new phones.
HOWEVER, I really need to be able to call him while driving, and I also still need to have my phone locked. I have tried S-Voice and I am not impressed.
I have toyed with a couple of lock screen widgets, but I can't seem to get anything to work just right.
I would love to be able to push one button (or push and speak into the phone) to call him.
Can anybody help me?

From a unlocked phone tell Google Now to call your husband. You may want to setup the contact as my husband and it will handle that for you. "Call my husband"

You can tell it to remind you. List goes on.

Thanks for your response. I guess the problem I have is that I like to keep my phone locked. And, it's not safe for me to unlock it while I am driving. So, I would like to be able to call him without unlocking it.

Hi durga :hello: Welcome to the forums.

I haven't really tried it but you might try selecting the S Voice app, tap your menu key and select driving mode or just select it from the notification bar.

I apologize if I'm coming across wrong, but are you saying that you are so concerned about your driving that you can't unlock your phone BUT you want to talk on the phone while driving. I honestly believe that talking on the phone while driving is more dangerous than unlocking the phone in the first place.

You misunderstand the original issue. She wants to use hands free to talk on her phone using voice commands. She is frustrated because in her efforts to keep her hands off the phone and her eyes on the road, the voice command won't unlock the phone so she can call out.

I have the same frustration. I need my phone to lock when I'm not using it but it defeats the purpose of voice dialing.

In order to utilize the Svoice option you will have to disable your lock screen svoice can not detect call commands from the lock screen with a pass code on your phone this security feature can not be undone.

This is why I only have lock screen set to swipe then individually lock apps with Perfect App Protector Pro.
