I lost all my messages?

This is my first post on this forum. I would like to thank everyone that posts here. You have all been very helpful.

Ok, so I lost all my messages. Here's what happened: I opened up ChompSMS and it eventually force closed. When I tried to open it again it went to a black screen and it wouldn't display anything. So I just restarted my phone. When it restarted I opened chompSMS again. It started up fine, but I lost ALL my conversations. I opened up the basic messaging program and my conversations were gone there too. Has this happened to anyone before? Is there a way to get my messages back? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

This happens to me multiple times a week, get used to it. I'm debating returning my Droid because of this problem its ridiculous.

Is anyone aware of the problem? It seems silly that nothing is getting done about the problem if so many people are having consistent issues with it.
