I miss my phone!

SNAG!

I was browsing my local Craigslist ads and came across a pristine Verizon Note 4 for $175! I talked to the guy, thinking "if I can get this for $150, I'm jumping on it. I can use it for 9 months until the Note 8 comes out and even with a new battery and portfolio case, I can sell it for what I have in it."

He finally came down to $150 and I went and picked it up :D

S-Pen AGAIN! WOO HOO!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NOTE 8! lol I look every day to see if there are any articles.. Even if it's fake I want to read it!!

LOL! I'm right here with ya. And now that I finally got my money back from Big Red I have it safely socked away for just that event. I'm gonna pre-order again. :p

Hi guys! I'm back! (for the moment, anyway... long story)

I'm hearing lots about the S8 and a little about the Note 8. Samsung may scale back the display to QHD... and the worst rumor I've heard is that, in their quest to be just like the Fruit Company, Samsung wants to eliminate the headphone jack. I rock a stereo Bluetooth headset, so that's not a deal-breaker for me... but Samsung's treading VERY thin ice. This is NOT the year to annoy a lot of people - they need to pack features into the S8, not remove things.

Still a reveal around MWC and a release in April. Note 8 still sometime around August. However, that may slip: there are some licensing issues regarding production of the Snapdragon 835, which is based on the 10nm FinFET process. The folks who developed that process aren't thrilled about other people using the technology without shelling out some beer money... so they'll either sort it out fast, delay production, or go to an older, 14nm SoC.

I'll keep the news coming as I get it - I've pressed the Boss to create a Note 8 Forum, but nothing yet :(

Why are the threads where current Note 7 users who are happy closed? Why do they get scolded by people with nothing but time on their hands and the threads closed??? Hopefully those same users will gather here. On this forum's topic I will miss my phone but not yet. And don't tell me its going to catch fire. Please no calculations or summations. My calculations tell me it's 2nd generation issue and going to be fine. T-Mobile shut down beginning today. Hope my Ez updater works.

I'm pretty sure everyone here Asia, including me, returned their Note7s, got all their money back, and that's the end of it, until next year's Samsung flagship releases.

I'm only still subscribed to the Note7 forum out of curiosity now.

I'm sitting here right now, with my Note 7 in my hand, enjoying some pictures of my kids I took earlier. My battery is almost done charging, at 93%. My Note 7 will be ready for another great day, later, when I get up. It will continue that way until the Note 8 is available, or some other equal or better piece of hardware. It's a stupid shame that Samsung brow beat so many people into giving up their Note 7, when the only thing that was clear was that it was for Samsung's benefit to do that, first and foremost. They STILL have not stepped out in the open and given a plain, definitive explanation of exactly what the issue was, and was caused by. Without that, there is no worthwhile way for anyone to assess the their own risk for the issue, and plenty of other anecdotal information out there to indicate it's both minuscule and easily managed. Anyone who didn't want to be burdened with having any concerns whatsoever about their device melting down should obviously have the right to return it, for some replacement or refund, no questions or hassles. Anyone who wanted to keep it and take responsibility for it and themselves for keeping it should also have the right to do so. Samsung sees the latter as against their corporate interests. They found plenty of ignoramus media knobs, and peanut gallery alarmists among the general public, to help them stampede most Note 7 owners to just give them up. When and if Samsung ever makes good on its public promise from a month ago, to reveal their conclusive findings on just what caused the tiny number of Note 7's to short circuit and melt down in flames, then we'll have a better idea about just how much, or little, risk the almost 3 million people who owned all the rest of them were really at or not at, from them.

What johnpjackson said!!!! Just looked because I could not remember, Note 7 release date August 19, 2016. I had mine within 24 hours. Aside from return/replacing it I've had 4 1/2 months of happiness with this phone and it's not going back until it's a brick or there's a worthy successor!!!

Funny while checking the release date up came all the bad press reports. What an amazing bunch of hype. Did even 100 phones catch fire? And the reports talk about Samsung rebuilding trust...Bahahahaha I've bought 2 Samsung 55" inch 4k TV's since then (bedroom and X-mas present).

WOW just opened yesterday's mail...check for $918. from Verizon!!!! This just keeps getting better!
