I miss my phone!

Goodbye all!!! Just lit up my new Mate 9!!! Dual sim! Just left Verizon (blame Samsung) after forever. Hello AT&T and dual sim support. Returning my Note 7 and retiring my Note 5. 1 phone , 2 numbers is great! Setup took literally 30 minutes to complete. I miss the home button, volume rocker now on the right side and no stylus. That said screen (5.9) is a perfect size and design is nice. Almost an edge but just a slim bezel. Anyway good luck all I'm done here.

My condolences on the loss of your Note7. I know it is almost like a death in the family, we loved those phones so much! And the whole debacle caused so much ill will between the customers and the carriers/Samsung. Such a shame to end this way.

It's like a graveyard in here. I wish there was some official stats on the most popular phones that Galaxy Note 7 users moved onto. I'd guess probably Galaxy S7/Edge #1 and then iPhone and then ...

Regardless, sorry for your loss and good luck in Aug/Sept should you choose to take note.

Well, I'm sporting an ancient - but capable - Note 4 until the Note 8 comes out in August/September. The blogosphere is all abuzz about the Galaxy S8 coming in April... and it will be a phenomenal phone. But I urge patience: the Note 8 will blow it out of the water.

As opposed to just blowing it up - something the Note 7 was kinda prone to doing :p

Except, the Note 7 WASN'T prone to blowing up. A tiny fraction out 2.5 million failed, by shorting and burning. Words have actual meaning.

Well people it's official. I just factory reset my Note 7...:( Finally migrated everything to my Mate 9 (S-Notes are a pain but it works with Evernote). So in hindsight I can say that I'm glad I didn't bend and get forced into a phone I didn't want. I had my eye on the Mate 9 when it was announced due to the 5.9 screen but especially the dual Sim cards.

Real briefly the phone is awesome! It's blazing fast. I truly miss the home button and stylus but have gotten over it. Side by side the Note 7 does have a deeper (color, brightness)(out of the box) looking screen but I tweaked my brightness and color and got the Mate 9 almost identical. So if anyone is still out there looking give the Mate 9 a look.

So now I'm curious to see what the Galaxy S8 6.2 screen looks like coming in just a few weeks. Obviously the Note 8 later this year. But now that I am only carrying 1 phone with dual Sim cards I cannot ever seeing myself going back to carrying 2 phones.

And lastly not only did Samsung screw up they hurt the carriers. I switched from Verizon to AT&T (almost a month in) and have had zero coverage issues. I was a Verizon customer for at least 10 years or more. Also now that I'm free of Big Red and I'm confident with the coverage of other carriers. WOW the monthly plans every other carrier offers. Sorry Big Red blame Samsung. I'll keep watching this forum but I'll probably drop off my flawless non-combustible Note 7 this week. Thanks

My Note 4's behavior finally got too bizarre for me so I sold it. Got a heckuva deal on a refurbished Note 5*. While I'm not too keen on the lack of a microSD card, I really needed all that storage for photos and movies... so I use Google Photos (everything's backed up there anyway) and moved my movies to OneDrive so I can stream them if I want to watch them.

The Note 5 is lightyears ahead of the Note 4. Awesome screen, fingerprint scanner, and Samsung Pay! Ahhhhhh

I bought the Note 4 off Craigslist for $150, bought a new battery and a portfolio case for it. So I had about $180 in it. There is a seller on eBay called bidallies who is selling refurbished Note 5s for $300. I snagged one and sold the Note 4 & accessories for $225. So I made money on the Note 4 and when the Note 8 comes out I'll probably make money on the Note 5 too!

:D:D:D

Yeah, I was thinking of the S8, but I'll also wait for the Note 8 as I went to the S7edge from Note 7.

Actually, I'm really loving the Note 5! It has so many more features than the Note 4, and I can live with the lack of a microSD card (at least until the Note 8 comes out, I've moved things to the cloud). The S8 Plus looks like it's going to be a wonderful device, and no doubt a bunch of people will jump on it. However, I'm going to be patient... because the Note 8 will be a quantum jump up from it. So far, I'm hearing 6.2" 4K UHD screen, 6 GB RAM, minimum 64 GB storage, microSD slot, enhanced S Pen features... it's going to be amazing! And expensive! That's why I'm holding out hope that Note 7 owners who turned in their phones (especially those of us who turned in TWO) will get at least half off.

:)

I'm with ya. Yes the S8 is going to tease me but I'll hold out for the Note 8 for the same reasons, and yes, I turned in 2 Note 7's too. Let's hope we get a deal!
