I feel stupid now after how simple to get the top cover off was.
first i saw a video on youtube on another look-a-like tablet
they started taking to the screen with a stanley knife starting at a corner cutting the glue just under the film to take it off.
Well now i did that and noticed half way through cuting i saw the top cover was coming away from the bottom half of the pendo with the white tabs showing.
damn, i would have done prying the cover out if i knew that, by the by there was 2 little star screws on side to take out prior.

note: ive attached pics to my gallery of the pendo taken down to show the batteries.
