I need help desperately................

I recently purchased a gPad online and it was delivered to me on Feb. 6/12 with many defects. I contacted the online seller by email and telephone...but he never responded. The following day (feb 7) the gPad would not power on at all. Again I contacted the seller to no avail. On Moday when I received the gPad I downloaded the gmail app to this device not realizing that 24 hrs later I wouldnt be able to access it. I am now going to be sending this device back to the seller but I need to first remove my gmail from the device because it is private. How can I do this if the device will not power on? Any help you could shed on this situation would be much appreciated.

thanking you in advance...

If the device won't power on, there's really no way to clear the memory without damaging the tablet. I would recommend simply changing the password on the gmail account. Should they get the tablet to power on, the moment they connect to an internet source, they will be prompted for a new password. Without the password, they won't have access to any Google services like gmail or the market.
