Help I need help downgrading my LG Optimus L7

Hello there,
I recently bought an LG p700 which had android 4.0 installed. I did some research and found out that downgrading to 2.3 would be better for performance and battery life. So I am asking you:
How can I downgrade to 2.3? I don't really know much about smartphones so a basic step to step guide would be awesome.
Thanks

It would be complicated, plus I don't know if there's really much evidence that it's true. The steps for going back are similar to just rooting and staying with the more current OS, and the latter would probably be better. But be very careful. Look in the forum for your phone, and read the sub forum there on rooting.

Well actually it made much sense to me, in the way that, much like with computers, newer OS require better hardware. If that's not the case, then I don't know why my phone is so laggy. It sometimes freezes and I have to hard restart it, others it just lags, like running on 2-3 FPS. I really don't know what's going on and I thought that maybe downgrading would require less hardware capacity, giving more CPU power to the applications.

Those are problems that are very common especially if you've had the phone awhile. Things to try: clear out any unneeded files and apps, clear caches of apps that accumulate a lot of stuff like social media apps, keep the "recent apps" screen cleared every time you close an app.

That's just a few things to try. It helps but isn't a whole fix. The hardware on your phone isn't the problem, it's more the software problems of stuff added on top of Android.
