I need help restoring color note

Hi:) I recently had to get a new HTC evo and I had saved my color notes. When I downloaded the app again in my new evo and tried to restore them nothing happens:( I can see the notes in my restore list that I want to restore but when I click on them and enter my password it acts like its completing the request and I even get a box that says "done" but my notes are not restored:( I've tried to restore my manual back up notes and the ones that were automatically backed up and no luck. I've emailed the developer twice with no response whatsoever over the past week. The developers website was not much help either. I'm at a loss not sure how to restore my notes. I would reeeaaallllyyy love to get them back but I can't figure it out. What's the point of backing them up if I can't restore them?! I'm sure I'm doing something wrong somehow... I'm not the most tech savy girl I know. Any help would be very much appreciated!!:)

Frustrated:(

my mom has a droid x and switched to the iphone. I have a droid x also so I grabbed the data/colornotes file and transfered it to my phone with no luck in viewing on my phone. I was then going to print out the notes since there is no colornotes for iphone. I can't even find the developers website to email. do you have it? I am going to transfer the info manually to Evernote so I she will have cross platform access including the desktop.

Not that I use Color Note, but maybe someone who has heard back (or intends to) could post the instructions/email here, so others can benefit?

I flashed to ICS earlier this week; I downloaded the newest version of Color Note didn't pick up on this issue until today.

This thread is the closest thing to an answer and was pretty irritated that Miss_Liberty just left us out to dry.

My solution:

Titanium Backup

Uninstalled the latest version
Restored the old
Reboot phone
BAM

If this was an option for you and this answer helped, I suggest buying the Pro version. Also, backup your important data in Word.

I also tried:

Creating a backup in the new version, copying the file name
Moved the new backup to another directory
Renaming the old files to the new backup name

Didn't work.

I know this is an old thread but I did some serious searching on this tonight only to find that you won't find many answers. I was having this issue after installing a custom ROM on my transform ultra. I have many backups of different things before I attempted the ROM change and now it seems to have paid off.
I had a backup of my SD card on my computer from where I simply had dragged the entire file off of my SD card onto my computer. In the data folder of the backup I had another folder called colornote. Inside that was backup. Inside that was many files. I plugged my phone into my computer and put the colornote file back on my SD card in the same data folder.
I then downloaded Color Note from the app store. Now here is how you get them all back, start Color Note and go into the settings menu (For me this was the hard button on my phone itself). You should see Backup listed. Hit Backup and scroll down to the bottom where you will find SD Card Backup. Select that and you should have a list of the possible backups with date and time. Select the one you want and then BAM you have them all back. :smokingsomb:
After hours searching online tonight I though I would never get them back. I even tried Titanium Backup with no success.

I ran into this. I didn't have too many notes, so used the option to save as a text file in dropbox on one phone, then imported the text files from dropbox on another.

I looked all over for the files, but there are no dates. I was using ES File explorer.

My phone had to restore so I had same problem...when you open it go to settings...scroll all way down to sd card backup...click on date with restore and click view. Click on note and it will open up. Click on menu and option to restore pops up...no password needed. ..although default password is 0000 in case.

There are so many other note programs out there that have better backup and restores on them than Colornote. I finally let go of this crappy program and went with Notes by Rabbit. Basically the same thing...notes and lists and an easier way of backing up and restoring.

This worked fine for me using Color Notes

Basically it says to.......

1). Backup your color notes using the built in backup utility incuded with Color Notes
2). Connect your source device with the original Color Notes backup files to a PC
3). Locate the folder where the Color Note backups were saved
4). Copy the backed up files to your PC
5). Disconnect the device from the PC
6). Connect the Destination device (another phone etc) to the PC
7). Copy the Color Note backup files from the PC into the Color Notes backup folder
8). Run Color Notes and go into Settings --> SD Card Backup (you should see your backup files)
9). Touch the one you want to restore
10). Touch "Restore"

It worked perfectly for me
