I need help with handcent! Please help

I just got a Droid Razr from Verizon, Sunday. When I'm on the phone with someone I don't hear a sound or feel a vibration to notify me I have a text. The onyl way I'd know there is a text while I'm on a call with someone, is if I look at the phone and that becomes annoying. I heard about Handcent and I downloaded it. It works for that purpose I had a problem with. With Handcent it does make a beep and vibrates when I'm on the phone to notify me a text came in..

What the problem is, is that I hate that when I get a text off the off it comes up in my messages and in Handcent. So my ringtone for messages will go off, twice, because the text show from Handcent and Droid's messaging if that makes sense? I turned off the image on the display bar at the top, but doing that causes it to not beep or vibrate when I'm on the phone with someone. And I don't want the display there because when I'm NOT on the phone I get texts twice because of that app and the text messages for Droid itself.

Please help, I'm in desprate need. If you know anyway with anthing, to make my situation not annoying, but make texts notifcations sounds work when I wanna hear something while on a call

I believe that in your stock messaging app you need to go to its settings>notifications and turn that off. Also, in Handcent go to settings>default messaging application and choose all sms/mms. You can also go to Handcent settings>notification settings for more options. Works for me.
