Root I need help!!

So I have the Franco kernal and I want to flash the elemental x kernal do I have to wipe my whole phone or just wipe cache?

Usually flashing just a kernel requires cache and dalvik wipe before flashing. (there should be flashing instructions at the dev's thread or site)
Always nandroid first.
Do you have the Nexus 6?

I wiped my cache. But it kept crashing. I think it was because I sent my CPU frequency too high. They give you a opinion on what maximum frequency you want to operate at.
