I need the great minds to come together on this one...in reference to an otg cable

So I just got my cable in the mail and I'm using it to game with a ps3 controller which is working perfectly but my question is without rooting can anyone think of an accessory I might be able to use to charge the phone while I'm using the otg cable?

Would a powered usb hub charge it? plug the PS3 into the hub, then the hub into the SGS3?

I'm not sure. The thing is, in usb host mode, the phone actually powers attached devices, similarly to plugging them into a PC. I don't know if it can both power and be charged at the same time. I think the pin wiring is different in the OTG connectors to allow powering external devices.

Ah nothing a bit of re-wiring wouldn't solve.

Could always root and use Bluetooth PS3 then charge the phone using the USB socket.
