My stupid Nexus 5 got a splash of water and now it's decided to R.I.P.

This will be just in time for my birthday.

Good luck. Invites are hard to come by at the moment. Just gotta wait I suppose, I know it sucks too.

late june for general availability through the invite system which will be indefinite as far as the ability to purchase the phone.

I would really like to get my hands on a invite or two if possible! I would really appreciate anyone helping me achieve this!

I figured that aliens from outer space landing on earth had shorter odds than the invite system. So, I got the new moto g lte from Motorola. Took only 2 days to arrive after ordering.
Good luck to all of you waiting and stressing out.....,,:(

Well the storm of invites contest ended today (or in the last 24 hrs)...

The oneplus discussion thread added this info to the OP:

EDIT: Congratulations @shawnstan93 you won a free 64GB Sandstone Black One. Tomorrow you'll be receiving an invite to buy the phone for $0 in our store

Since we need to check that all the 2,500 invite winners have fulfilled the right tasks, we will be contacting them later this week.

So odds with the final tally are 2,500:500,762, or essentially 1 in 200, per entry. If you marketed for them enough to earn the maximum 5 entries, that's 1 in 40!

Odds are winnable, but definitely not as good as aliens landing (coz that's like, totally a real thing man!)...

;)

I'm so happy to have several other flagship Androids to enjoy, it'd be awfully sad if I actually needed this phone.

But then again I can't fathom attempting to endure the obscene wait that OP is subjecting it's potential customers to. A debacle of epic proportions, history is being made in the ugliest of ways.

I have a OPO. I was a Race Day winner. OPO should have scrapped the invite model and went with a pre-order system.

Should have had a stock pile of maybe 20-50k thousand units, and did a first come, first serve pre-order. Hell maybe even 100K. The demand is there. If they had done that, I think the pissed off swell that the OPO forums has had wouldn't be as bad as it was and as.

Also, there accessories are slowly coming out which is nice, but those should have been ready too. I'd like to get some different backplates, but they;re unavailable. I get that they're a "start-up", but these are miss-steps that I hope they fix and change when and if they come out with another phone.

In their defense, its really hard to judge demand for a product, and had they overestimated and made 100k units and sold 20k that likely would have been the end of them.

They're learning the hard way right now

Very true.
