Help I/O Switch Broken: Please Help!!

Lurker
I have a Droid2 with a broken I/O switch and I cannot power the phone on to retrieve my messages and more importantly my contacts (which are only partially saved via my gmail account).

Does anyone know how I can access my phone to retrieve this information and/or start my phone back up so that I can use it while I'm awaiting a replacement phone?

Through this forum I was able to "root" the phone (remove battery, hold up key on Dpad and replace batter) and get to a BootLoader screen that has limited information on it and I don't know where to go from there, any assistance/insight would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

Thanks, Sitlet. Just got back from the Verizon store and turned to the Forums b/c they were helpless. I was told at Verizon that my contacts would be saved via my gmail account (which I already mentioned was partially true, only 47 #s are actually saved there).

Other than that, Verizon employee told me that there's no way for him to turn the phone off with a broken power button. So that is clearly not an acceptable resolution to the issues above.

Obviously, I could get a new phone through insurance (which I intend to do after contact recovery) but that doesn't exactly help me with my lost numbers issue either.

Anyone else have a suggestion or insight?
